Approval and Adoption of Constitution

I hereby apply for membership of the ATLANTIC BEACH LINKS and agree that upon my acceptance as a member of the Club, I shall be bound by the terms and conditions of the Constitution and Byelaws of the Club. I hereby acknowledge that the Club is in no way responsible for any injury, loss or damage sustained by me or my family when using or arising out of the Club’s facilities and indemnify the Club in respect of any such claims. I also acknowledge that I will have no voting rights at general meetings of members Should I resign my membership, I accept that membership fees paid to the end of the year are not refundable. In addition, I undertake to advise management IN WRITING of such resignation.

PROCESS AND OTHER INFORMATION

Applications for membership from persons other than Owner Members shall be accompanied by such documentation, information and payment as may be required by the Management Committee, a list of which information shall be provided to applicants by the Management Committee on request.
Once the applicants have submitted their applications in the form prescribed by the Management Committee:
- a list of the names of such applicants shall be displayed on the notice board at the Club House for a period of at least 14 days;
- ALL such applications shall be subject to availability in the class of membership for which applications are made;
- DURING the period of 14 days aforesaid, Members shall be invited by way of notice displayed on the notice board to object, if they so wish, to any applicant for membership, and to submit their objections together with the reasons for such objections in writing to the Links Committee by no later than 3 days after the expiry of the 14 day period; and
- ONLY objections from existing Members in good standing, as defined in the Rules will be taken into consideration.
The election of Non-Owner Members shall be at the Links Committee’s entire discretion and shall be considered at its next meeting after expiration of the period mentioned in 6.4.3 above, provided that no applicant may be elected less than 14 days after his nomination.
The Links Committee shall be entitled, but not obliged, to take into account any objection received from Members to the appointment of a Non-Owner Member.
All new Non-Owner Members elected must pay all amounts due by them within 30 days of election.
Should the Links Committee not accept any applicant due only to unavailability in the class of membership applied for, the candidate shall be notified in writing of the decision of the Links Committee and the candidate’s name shall be placed on the appropriate waiting list.
The privileges of Non-Owner Membership shall not be transferable and shall commence only after receipt of official notification of election and receipt by the Club of all amounts payable by the Non-Owner Member.
A candidate may withdraw his or her application at any time before the meeting of the Links Committee to consider same.
The Links Committee shall have the power in its discretion to close or open from time to time the list of candidates for Non-Owner Membership and accordingly limit the number of applications received. It shall further have the power to institute a waiting list on which shall be inscribed the names of all persons applying for or persons who have applied for Non-Owner Membership of the Club.
